Helipebs Controls Ltd is charting a new course towards modernisation.

Helipebs has invested in a Powder Coating facility to run alongside our existing shot blast and wet paint shop.

We have recently installed a workplace electric charging point for vehicles, in our car park facility, to aid in reducing our carbon footprint.

As Mark Owen from “Punchline” reported, it was a proud moment for business and civic leaders when a high powered Chinese delegation arrived at Gloucester City Council’s North Warehouse this afternoon. Gloucester-based Helipebs Controls Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding with Jinshi Group (JMP) of China. The negotiations were supported by Chinese business expert Qing Lin of Stroud-based Join in China and Gloucester MP Richard Graham who has wide experience of the business community in China and the Far East.

For many years, Helipebs Controls has provided a repair service to overhaul and repair cylinders which have been supplied into operational service.

In recent years, volumes and cylinder types have increased to the extent that the Company has invested in order to create a dedicated repair section which will ensure that urgent repairs are handled in parallel with the manufacture of new product.

Once received from the customer, a strip report is prepared which clearly identifies those items which are to be replaced or refurbished and then a detailed quotation is submitted. On receipt of an order, the repair work is undertaken including final assembly, test and paint so that a quality product is delivered back to the customer thus providing many more years of serviceable life.

Helipebs was once again exhibiting at OSEA in Singapore last month. Taking a larger stand than in 2012, the show was even more popular than previous with attendees from all around the world.

Mark Confaloni, Sales Office Manager, said “it gave us the opportunity to catch up with both existing customers as well as new potential ones. Sometimes we were so busy that we had a queue of people wanting to speak with us. It made even taking a coffee break or stopping for lunch quite difficult at times. It is true to say that we didn’t get the chance to have a proper look at the exhibition ourselves.”

Harry Anderton commented that “many new leads were collected and these will be followed up in coming weeks. I will be visiting the area again in March to hold meetings with potential distributors and meet up with people we missed at the show. We believe the show to be so successful that we have already registered our interest in booking a stand for OSEA 2016”.

The show attracted more than 18,400 visitors from 65 countries/regions to source new products and technologies with many establishing new contacts and business relationships. There were more than 1,500 exhibitors from 49 countries/regions including 19 international group pavilions all representing an impressive showcase of products. The OSEA international conference, running alongside the exhibition, recorded an unprecedented increase growth of over 30% in attendees showing that the event is the preferred knowledge exchange platform in the region.

For many years, Dr Chris Champion has been the company’s medical officer and his hobby is motor sport. Helipebs Controls operates in the advanced engineering sector and was recently able to assist Dr Champion with a small modification to a component for his car, as a result of which Chris has written a few words about his hobby.

Following detailed discussions at Board level, Helipebs Controls Ltd has decided to withdraw from the specific ‘Intelligent Systems’ market with effect from 1st April 2014. The company will no longer offer frames, structures or servo controllers. The financial results of this division have been poor over the past few years and this has regrettably resulted in one redundancy.
