Part of the Helipebs Group philosophy is to hold 'Team Briefings' over an extended lunch hour when the entire workforce is invited to the meeting to receive a power 'point presentation' on the performance of the Company together with a prediction for the future workload and growth plans in the coming months and years.
A guest speaker is also invited, and this may be a member of the staff or a customer, a supplier, a Health & Safety expert or the Pension Scheme advisor all of which helps to keep employees fully informed on recent developments. During 2015, the Company and the Employee Forum have decided to raise funds for the locally based charity National Star (www.natstar.ac.uk), and the latest team briefing was therefore held at the organisation's main site in Ullenwood, Cheltenham. This enabled employees to see for themselves the charity's life-changing work with people with disabilities.
Our guest speakers on this occasion were Patrick Taylor, Corporate Partnerships Manager, and Harry Shenton, a former National Star College learner. Both gave very enlightening and thought-provoking talks about life at college and how learners are equipped with the skills and confidence to enable them to lead more independent lives in the community.
The Helipebs employees were then treated to a buffet lunch which could be eaten on the outside lawn of the Manor House on a glorious sunny day before returning the work at Sisson Road.
