For the second year in succession, the Cheltenham North Carol Concert was held in the Princess Hall at Cheltenham Ladies' College, and once again Helipebs were keen to sponsor this prestigious annual event.
This year the concert was compered by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen of TV and radio fame with a reading from his wife Jackie; they are Gloucestershire residents and Patrons of the local charity LINC (Leukaemia & Intensive Chemotherapy Fund).
During the evening, the audience was entertained by Lewis Haywood (Treble) who is a chorister in the Tewkesbury Abbey Schola Cantorum, the Stuart Singers from Minchinhampton, the Leckhampton School Junior & Year 6 Choirs and the Gloucester based Flowers Band, now in its 45th year. It was formed in 1968 as a result of the disbandment of the Royal Gloucester Hussars (Territorial Army) Brass Band.
A total of £6,500 was raised for distribution to LINC and the Acorns Children's Hospice, which is celebrating 25 years of providing palliative care and support for children and young people who have limiting or life threatening conditions. A date of Tuesday 16th December has already been set for the 2014 concert.
