Helipebs Controls is pleased to announce the appointment of Lucy Nicholls as their new Detail Design Engineer.
Lucy joins the company having graduated from Bournemouth University with a degree in Product Design.
Mark White, Engineering Manager says "Lucy's Solid Works knowledge and her ability to pick things up quickly has allowed her to slot into the office with exceptional ease"
Lucy advises "Since joining the company I have worked as part of the Helipebs Controls team in the engineering department. Mainly using the CAD package Solid Works, I help design and model hydraulic cylinders, and then create engineering drawings for manufacture. In the short time I have been here I have been lucky to work on a range of projects alongside senior engineers. The work is varied, fast paced and always interesting.
I graduated from Bournemouth University with a sandwich degree in Product Design. I spent my third year on an industrial placement working in R&D for a company in High Wycombe designing natural ventilation. Designing hydraulics wasn't something I pictured myself doing whilst studying at Uni, but I've been able to utilise the skills I learnt and practised during my placement and apply them to a more complex engineering based role. The entire Helipebs 'family' are very welcoming, and with a wealth of knowledge, are always happy to sit down and explain anything new".
