The Board of Helipebs (Holdings) Limited has recently received an approach from a West Midlands based company to acquire the principle assets and undertaking of Helipebs Limited (the ball plant and six of its employees).
There are a number of synergies between the two organisations because both operate unique types of rolling mill, and a combined operation would have much greater purchasing power for steel supplies on an ongoing basis. The resulting transfer of the business took place on 14th February 2011.
Helipebs Limited will continue to supply tooling and wear parts to the new company. Geoff Davis, Managing Director, comments "It's a sweetheart deal; the existing workforce is secure, the operation continues in Gloucester with no interruption in supplies to customers and the combined operations have a greater purchasing power for steel supplies."
Following the acquisition, the ball plant will continue to operate from the Sisson Road site in Gloucester. It will be known as The Steel Ball Company Limited, and both Geoff Davis and Ian Yemm, Director, will act as consultants to the new owners. Apart from the change in ownership, the Helipebs ball making business will continue to produce as normal in order to satisfy the needs of existing and new customers and meet the demands of our order book.
The other businesses of Helipebs (Holdings) Limited and Helipebs Controls Limited are not affected by the transaction.
